German Sports Medal
May 20, 2006 The DSB is reorganized and henceforth takes the name DOSB (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund - German Olympic and Sporting Confederation), the central non-governmental body for German sport is created by the merger of the German Sports Confederation (DSB ) and the National Olympic Committee for Germany. The corollary of this change is that the badge now bears its new acronym in place and instead of the old one. The people in charge of popular sport maintain the existence of the medal for France. In 2013 the conditions for obtaining it change and henceforth athletes can, depending on their results, directly reach the gold level. The acquisition of "bronze, silver and gold" levels is no longer done successively. For each series of events, depending on gender and age category, three scales are displayed corresponding respectively to bronze, silver and gold. Thus, the participant receives 3 points if he passes the gold scale (respectively 2 and 1 point for silver and bronze). Knowing that there are four groups of events with these scales, an accounting is made at the end of the session and entitles the holder to the following steps: Gold step: Between 11 and 12 points; Silver level: Between 8 and 10 points Bronze level: Between 4 and 7 points.
